Remington Core-Lokt Ammo

Remington’s Core-Lokt line of hunting ammo features a jacket locked onto the bullet’s lead core to create controlled expansion upon impact. It was one of the first widely available controlled expansion cartridges to break into the mainstream, and it remains a favorite of hunters today, even referring to it as the “Deadliest Mushroom in the Woods”. 

Older Core-Lokt ammunition had exposed lead tips. Newer versions, like the Core-Lokt Tipped  .300 Winchester Magnum, have swapped this for a polymer tip to facilitate easier loading and to improve accuracy. Across the years and new iterations, though, the Core-Lokt series has been a go-to for many hunters for its reliability and ability to deliver a clean, ethical kill.
