About the SCAR 17

Trusted by U.S. Special Forces personnel, the FN® SCAR® 17 is a battle-proven tactical rifle, chambered in the powerful, and all-too-common 7.62x51mm cartridge for unwavering stopping power in any tactical environment. Initially released in 2009 for USSOCOM service, the SCAR 17 features a rotating bolt and comes equipped with a free-floating cold hammer-forged MIL-SPEC barrel with a chrome-lined bore. Engineered to be a versatile and affordable duty weapon for a variety of users, the SCAR 17 comes equipped with ambidextrous fire controls and improved ergonomics. The SCAR 17 also features a polymer lower receiver aluminum upper receiver, designed to deliver a snug fit with little space for dirt, dust, or debris to enter the receivers while simultaneously reducing the rifle's overall weight. The upper receiver boasts a full-length flat-top Picatinny rail and two removable side rails, offering ample space for attaching various tactical lights, laser sights, optics, and more. The lower receiver is designed with an M16 compatible pistol grip enhanced comfort and control, while the flared magazine well facilitates speedy reloading for reliable field service. The raised area around the magazine and bolt release buttons protects against accidental magazine ejection or bolt release in fast-action environments, making it an easy choice for civilian shooters, law enforcement agencies, and military personnel across the globe.
