Handguns chambered in the 5.7x28mm cartridge are a hot commodity in today’s market; at least that’s the case with the FN® Five-SeveN™ pistol, introduced to the military and law enforcement markets in 1998 (introduced to the civilian market in 2004). With more than two decades of trusted service with military personnel, law enforcement agencies, and civilian shooters across the globe, the FN Five-SeveN features a chrome-lined, cold hammer-forged barrel, designed to deliver pinpoint accuracy and minimal felt recoil for improved comfort and control in any target, tactical, or personal defense application. Equipped with an internal hammer, and a smooth single-action trigger, the Five-SeveN offers a predictable, crisp break for superior accuracy and enhanced comfort and control.

The billet steel slide features lightening cuts for reduced weight and comes equipped with a removable polymer cover for improved shock and corrosion resistance in harsh, potentially corrosive environments. The elevation and windage-adjustable rear combat sight and blade front sight deliver intuitive target acquisition, while ambidextrous controls (safety and magazine release) offer superior reliability with both right- and left-handed shooters. The trigger offers a short, smooth pull, clean break, and positive reset. Other safety features include an integrated trigger safety, lightweight firing pin, neutrally balanced sear with significant engagement and strong spring tension, and a built-in hammer catch, designed to prevent the hammer from contacting the firing pin unless the trigger is pulled for safe carry without inhibiting performance.

About the 5.7x28mm Cartridge

The FN 5.7×28mm cartridge is a small-caliber, high-velocity, and rimmed centerfire cartridge, specifically designed for personal defense and target shooting applications. Developed in response to a NATO request to replace the 9mm cartridge, the 5.7x28mm cartridge is incredibly lightweight and produces very little recoil, yet still delivers a powerful punch capable of dropping large targets in life-or-death scenarios.
