Optics-Ready Mossberg 940 JM Pro: New for 2024

In today’s world where red dot sights have become the rule rather than the exception, it’s helpful if your guns are optics-ready from the factory. This is especially true of competition shotguns because you don’t want to be forced to have a gunsmith mill the gun for an optic before you can mount one. That’s where the Mossberg 940 JM Pro Competition comes in. It’s now offered in an optics-ready platform, making it far simpler for competitive shooters and shotgun fans alike to have a shotgun that’s red dot-ready right out of the box.

Mossberg’s proven 940 JM Pro shotgun first hit the market in 2020 and has since proven itself in the competitive shooting world thanks to its design, functionality, and competition-ready features. The renowned gun maker is proud to announce that these 12-gauge shotguns, which were created with input from world-renowned champion shooter Jerry Miculek, are now optics-ready. The new Mossberg 940 JM Pro Competition Optics Ready makes it easy to direct mount dot sights with Shield RMSc footprints.

This is a shotgun that’s specifically made to withstand the rigors of competition. It features a gas system that can run up to 1,500 rounds before it needs cleaning and is designed to cycle factory 2.75 or 3-inch ammunition (1 oz or more). The shotgun’s internal parts, including the gas piston, magazine tube, hammer, and sear, have nickel boron coating for superior corrosion resistance. The receiver is made with a tungsten gray or black anodized finish and features the 940 JM Pro logo on the right side.

Mossberg loaded the gun with an oversized, beveled loading port with a redesigned elevator and shell catch for superior performance when quad-loading. In addition, the barrel-making process utilized for the 940 JM Pro Competition is meant to maintain point-of-aim and impact and the forend is designed for ideal ergonomics. The shotgun features a user-configurable stock with length-of-pull adjustable from between 13 inches to 14.25 inches.

MSRP for the Mossberg 940 JM Pro Competition Optics Ready is set at $1,240.00.
