Weatherby SORIX Semi-Auto Shotgun: New for 2024

New for 2024, Weatherby has announced the release of the SORIX semi-auto shotgun. The new shotgun includes quality components of the SORIX translates to reliability, performance, and adaptability for the end user. With three models to select from, there is sure to be a SORIX to fit any need.

One of the features of the new SORIX is one familiar to other Weatherby shotguns. The SORIX uses the inertia recoil system for an easy-to-maintain shotgun that runs at a high level, thanks to the simple yet strong system. The SORIX is available in a 12 gauge with a 3” or 3.5” chamber and a 20 gauge with a 3” chamber. Regardless of preference, the shotgun will function with a large range of loads, from small game to heavy magnum, all with ease.

Weatherby expanded its shotgun line with the new semi-auto SORIX. Featuring the inertia recoil system, the SORIX has an optics-ready design and comes from the factory with 5 Crio Plus choke options. The SORIX also features Weatherby’s patented Shift System, allowing left-handed users to swap the charging handle and safety thanks to the cuts on the left side of the receiver. The Shift System is said to be tailored to a left-handed shotgun experience without the drop in performance of the system. Additionally, all shooters can adjust the fitment of the shotgun with adjustable stock shims, offering a customized feel to the weapon. On top of that, the system has an oversized slammer button, charging handle, and safety to make the shotgun easy to maneuver, even in rough conditions.

Coming from the factory optics-ready, the SORIX is drilled and tapped with four 8-40 holes for an optic right out of the box. The shotgun also has a stepped rib and an LPA front sight for increased accuracy and target acquisition without an optic if necessary. While the SORIX is accurate, it is also comfortable to shoot with textured touch points on the stock for a non-slip grip and a soft cheekpiece for longer shooting excursions. The barrel and receiver have a Cerakote finish that helps maintain the system integrity in the harsh elements, adding to the overall reliability.

The Weatherby SORIX has three hand-painted patterns to choose from: Midnight Marsh, Storm, and Slough. The shotgun uses the very popular Crio Plus choke system and comes from Weatherby with five chokes (cylinder, improved cylinder, modified, improved modified, and full), a choke wrench, and a carrying case. The Weatherby SORIX semi-auto shotgun is available now and has an MSRP of $1,499.

Patti Miller is one of the most awesome females in the tactical/firearm (or any) industry. Imagine a tall, hawt, dangerous Laura Ingalls Wilder type with cool hair and a suppressed blaster and you'll be getting the idea. What's interesting is that in addition to being a willing brawler and intrepid adventuress, she's also an Ent/Ogier level gardener and a truly badass baker.
