SK Customs’ Untamed Series Luchando Tigre 1911 Pistol: New for 2024

SK Customs, a well-known manufacturer of custom limited edition guns, has announced its latest version of the Untamed Series with the Lunchando Tigre pistol. The newest full-sized government model 1911-sized pistol features the aesthetics of its namesake and will only be available in limited numbers.

Translated as “fighting tiger”, the 1911-style pistol is chambered in .38 Super and has all the trappings of a high-end special edition weapon. The pistol has a semi-polished stainless finish on the slide and frame flats, boasting 24-karat gold and black accents. The tiger etched into the slide, with the gold and black striping, is set off with the silver-plated eyes, teeth, and claws, giving the pistol a primal feel.

“Luchando Tigre” comes from the native Atsatsilisti ritual in the Mexican state of Guerrero, which is to offer blood to the god Tláloc and the earth in exchange for the rain necessary for a good harvest. Dressed in a tiger personification and equipped with a rope bathed in mezcal, the tribute’s shed blood is the offering required by Tláloc to send the rain. A deadly tiger is depicted wrapping around the slide, leaping toward its prey with teeth and claws bared, locked on, tearing apart its prey.

“This year’s edition of the Untamed Series truly embodies the idea behind this line of custom guns,” said Simon Khiabani, owner and founder of SK Customs. “The tiger symbolism used in the Arsatslisti ritual for rain combined with the danger synonymous with the Bengal tiger that is depicted along the slide showcases the “tigris” subspecies century-old status as one of the most feared predators in the world.”

The frame of the pistol features genuine tiger maple wood grips, accenting the striping across the grain, mirroring the tiger’s coat. The pistol also features the Colt logo on the frame overtop tiger stripes on one side of the frame and the series number on the other, while the grips feature the 24K gold Colt Rampart inserts, adding to the opulence of the pistol.

The SK Customs Untamed Series Luchando Tigre 1911-style pistol will be available on Cinco De Mayo (May 5), but the company is taking pre-orders now for the pistol. Only 200 units of the Luchando Tigre will be produced, so you should act fast before it is gone. The pistol has an MSRP of $2,700.

Patti Miller is one of the most awesome females in the tactical/firearm (or any) industry. Imagine a tall, hawt, dangerous Laura Ingalls Wilder type with cool hair and a suppressed blaster and you'll be getting the idea. What's interesting is that in addition to being a willing brawler and intrepid adventuress, she's also an Ent/Ogier level gardener and a truly badass baker.
