SK Customs Releases Second Renaissance 1911

New for 2024, SK Customs has released the next pistol in its 1911 Early Italian Renaissance series of custom pistols, the “Leonardo da Vinci” Springfield Armory 1911 pistol. This pistol is the second model released from the 4-part collection inspired by the art and innovation of the Renaissance period.

“Leonardo da Vinci made remarkable contributions to the Italian Renaissance and the world as a painter, engineer, scientist, sculptor, and so much more,” said Simon Khiabani, owner and founder of SK Customs. “The features of the handgun pay tribute to his greatest artistic works. And as an engineer who designed war machines, the gun itself is a tribute to da Vinci’s contributions and long-lasting effects on modern society.”

The Leonardo da Vinci model, like the previous model released, is chambered in .45 ACP and features examples of the artist’s famous works. Included in the engravings on the pistol are depictions of the “Mona Lisa” on top of the slide, with “Vitruvian Man” and “The Last Supper” seen on the sides of the slide.

SK Customs employs proprietary color engineering to create the violet color seen on the pistol, which is both highly reflective and permanent. The company applies a semi-polished finish on the frame and slide flats along with a high-polish finish on the barrel for a truly stunning firearm. In addition, the company uses selective 24-karat gold plating on the artwork sections and key components.

The Leonardo da Vinci model has genuine imported Italian Olivewood grip panels that have been engraved and hand-painted with the Fleur de Lis with colors to match the finish of the slide. As part of a limited-edition run, there will only be 250 of the units created per release, so act fast if it strikes your fancy. The Leonardo da Vinci model 1911 pistol has an MSRP of $2,405.

Want to expand your collection even further? SK Customs also offers a limited-edition engraved model 1911 pistol within the Early Italian Renaissance Series, which SK Customs calls the “Gold Series.” Packed in a collectible display case, these pistols will have consecutive series and edition numbers. Only 25 will be made, and the MSRP is $13,870.
