SHOT Show 24: CZ Releases New Scorpion EVO 3 S1 Carbine

CZ USA has announced the release of the latest edition of the popular Scorpion EVO 3 S1, chambered in .22LR. Keeping with the original looks of the Scorpion, this lighter-weight option lends itself to better maneuverability without forfeiting accuracy or reliability.

The new EVO 3 S1 carbine is similar to the original model with reliability, accuracy, and function. The carbine uses a dynamic bolt for flawless operation regardless of ammunition, according to CZ. It features a 16-inch cold hammer-forged barrel, threaded ½”x28, and has a cylindrical compensator installed from the factory. The compensator helps minimize any barrel climb and felt recoil with rapid shots, but users can easily mount a suppressor if they so choose.

CZ USA has announced its newest Scorpion, the EVO 3 S1 Carbine. Chambered in .22LR, the carbine is as fun and accurate as the original, but in a cheaper round. Weighing just 6 pounds, the carbine features a folding stock for easy storage. [Photo credit: CZ USA]
The EVO 3 S1 also has a telescoping/folding shoulder stock that can be adjusted for length of pull, while the adjustable sights and long sight radius make it a precise system. The frame of the rifle is a fiberglass-reinforced polymer frame and an ergonomic grip helps make it lightweight and comfortable to shoot. The carbine also features an ambidextrous thumb safety, a solid 7.4-pound trigger pull, and an integrated full-length Picatinny rail making mounting of optics and accessories easy.

Another feature that is a breeze with the Scorpion EVO 3 S1 is the disassembly and maintenance. According to CZ, the carbine is easy to field strip so users can quickly get the cleaning done and get back to shooting. The rifle comes from the factory with a 10-round polymer magazine, and thanks to the rimfire ammunition, shooting provides ample fun with little barrel wear.

The CZ Scorpion EVO 3 S1 has an unloaded weight of around 6 pounds and has an overall length of 35.8” when fully extended or around 26” with the stock folded. The carbine comes from the factory with the CZ Transferable Limited Lifetime Warranty. No word yet on the exact pricing, but should be available soon from CZ.

Patti Miller is one of the most awesome females in the tactical/firearm (or any) industry. Imagine a tall, hawt, dangerous Laura Ingalls Wilder type with cool hair and a suppressed blaster and you'll be getting the idea. What's interesting is that in addition to being a willing brawler and intrepid adventuress, she's also an Ent/Ogier level gardener and a truly badass baker.
