SHOT 2024 New Release: Kimber KDS9c Rail Model

Kimber has announced the expansion of its popular KDS9c family of pistols with the new Kimber KDS9c Rail model. This new model comes after consumer response to the original pistol. Furthermore, it includes a few upgraded features like a Picatinny rail and ambidextrous safety.

Billed as a part of the next generation of hammer-fired semi-automatic pistols, the Kimber KDS9c Rail allows users to mount optics and lights if they so choose. The pistol comes from the factory with Trijicon RMR, Holosun K, and Vortex Venom red dot optic plates.

The KDS9c Rail has an alloy frame constructed from 7075 aircraft aluminum. In addition, the grip and front strap sections feature a crosshatch textured design for a solid hand feel. The pistol features new hi-texture grip scales as well for a better grip over other models. With a 4-inch stainless steel barrel and a stainless steel slide, the pistol is a compact option for concealed carry.

Everett Deger, Director of Kimber Marketing, stated:

When we started shipping the KDS9c in July of 2023, the most requested addition was for a rail and ambidextrous safety, and we listened to those requests. This line extension is a testament to providing the features and attributes that Kimber customers expect, and modern firearms owners are looking for. The KDS9c Rail delivers on all of these latest concealed carry attributes and is machined, assembled, and finished by American workers in Troy, Alabama.

The pistol provides the shooter with excellent control and comfort, making the pistol ergonomically sound for the shooter. Additionally, the system has a crisp trigger, something Kimber enthusiasts know. The Kimber KDS9c Rail, like the original KDS9c, will also ship with one 15-round and one 18-round magazine, giving yet another reason why it’s a good concealed carry option. For those who live in restrictive states, the pistol will also be available with 10-round magazines.

Kimber states this pistol is just one of the new and exciting items coming down the pipe from the company this year. The KDS9c Rail is available in black or dark gray/black color options with an MSRP of $1,903.

Patti Miller is one of the most awesome females in the tactical/firearm (or any) industry. Imagine a tall, hawt, dangerous Laura Ingalls Wilder type with cool hair and a suppressed blaster and you'll be getting the idea. What's interesting is that in addition to being a willing brawler and intrepid adventuress, she's also an Ent/Ogier level gardener and a truly badass baker.
