SHOT 2024: New Benelli SBE 3 Compact Shotguns

Benelli has announced a new version of a beloved shotgun in the Super Black Eagle 3 (SBE 3) Compact. The Benelli SBE 3 adds new features for a lighter, better fitting shotgun in a slightly smaller package.

The Benelli SBE 3 has proven a leader when it comes to hunting shotguns. The Compact model provides that same energy but in a lighter weight package for a better handling and shooting experience. The Compact differs from other SBE models by featuring a shorter length of pull, producing a shorter overall length. The new Benelli SBE 3 Compact is available in three different gauges — 12, 20, and 28 — all of which are chambered for 2 ¾ and 3-inch shotshells.

The SBE 3 Compact features a 26-inch Crio-treated barrel with an overall length of just 46 ¼ inches. This is at least 1 ¼ inches shorter than other SBE 3 models. While the shorter barrel obviously contributes to the shorter length, so does the reduced-length buttstock with an overall length of pull reduced to 13 inches. All those shorter features help make the overall package lighter as well: 6.7 pounds for the 12-gauge, 5.7 pounds for the 20-gauge, and 5.4 pounds for the 28-gauge variants.

All variants of the Benelli SBE 3 Compact have the same black synthetic stock and standard features, regardless of gauge. Naturally, the SBE 3 Compact sports Benelli’s signature Inertia Driven system. This system is clean burning, never requires adjustment, and cycles consistently regardless of conditions. All SBE 3 Compacts include extended (IC, M) and flush (C, IM, F) Crio chokes, Comfort Tech 3 recoil pads, Combtech pads, and drop and cast shim kits. Benelli’s SBE 3 Compact shotguns come from the factory in a custom-fitted hard case and have an MSRP of $1,949.

Patti Miller is one of the most awesome females in the tactical/firearm (or any) industry. Imagine a tall, hawt, dangerous Laura Ingalls Wilder type with cool hair and a suppressed blaster and you'll be getting the idea. What's interesting is that in addition to being a willing brawler and intrepid adventuress, she's also an Ent/Ogier level gardener and a truly badass baker.
