Military Armament Corp, also known as MAC, has released their newest firearms: the MAC-5 and MAC-5K. That’s right, from a company dedicated to bringing iconic firearms into modern times, these two new firearms match up with the originals with modern manufacturing techniques and affordable pricing.
Both of these semi-automatic 9mm pistols share many of the same features as the original MP5. Both models operate on a roller-delayed blowback system. In addition, the reinforced glass-filled polymer grip module is coated with Lauer lacquer paint over a manganese phosphate finish. The elevation adjustable front sight includes hooded front posts. In classic fashion, the MAC-5K features a castle-style adjustable rear sight whereas the MAC-5 wears an adjustable rear diopter.
The MAC-5 has a threaded 8.9” barrel while the MAC-5K has a threaded 5.8” barrel. In addition to the 1/2×28 barrel threading, the pistols include a factory-installed tri-lug muzzle device. The systems feature a SEF patterned trigger with a comfortable 4.25lb pull weight and a paddle magazine release. The MAC-5 has an overall length of 17.9” and an unloaded weight of 5.5 pounds, whereas the MAC-5K has an overall length of 13.7” and an unloaded weight of 4.6 pounds.
MAC-5 pistols are compatible with most of the prolific aftermarket accessories and components available for MP5 variants in addition to HK parts and, of course, MAC-branded items. The pistols ship from MAC with two 30-round standard magazines and a Limited Lifetime Warranty. Further, the MAC-5 and MAC-5K arrive as a complete package with a sling, custom hard case, and cleaning kit. The pistols are available now and on display at SHOT Show 2024. Both MAC-5 and MAC-5K pistols have an MSRP of $1,099.99.
