We’ve Got the Best Ways to Spend Your Tax Return

Ooh boy, we are closing in on April 15th, America’s Tax Day. Bennie Franklin was right about the only thing that was certain was death and taxes. I bet he didn’t know that we’d be sliding over little pieces of paper with his face on them to pay the taxes, though. If you paid in a little too much this year, you might be expecting something back, or maybe you already got it back. Well, we have some suggestions on how to spend that little bit of extra cash you might have burning a hole in your pocket.

A New Gun (Duh)

Okay, well, we can’t sell you a gun, but I’m sure you have plenty of places you can buy one. Once that money drops into your account, it’s tough not to buy that shiny new piece of blued steel. You might have a feeling in the back of your head that says, “Wait, I should probably save this for retirement.”

Allow me to be the devil on your shoulder and say, “Nah. Buy the gun.” The way things are going with the world, that gun might be a better retirement package than a bank account. Guns aren’t great investments, but they aren’t the worst ones, either.

Plus, you haven’t bought a new gun since you bought your last gun. Personally, I want the new Beretta Ultima Patrol or the S&W 5.7x28mm pistol. What about you?

A Drum for Your New Gun

So you bought the new gun? Great, let’s get you a drum for it! Oh, you didn’t buy a gun? Well, buy a drum for your old gun! There is plenty of room for more ammo and more magazines. The world of drum magazines used to suck. There was a time when drums were regarded as novelty range toys. Luckily, time and technology have improved.

Magpul perfected the drum magazine.

Magpul has tackled the drum problem and produced a series known as the D50 and D60 that offer shooters a modern and capable drum option for a variety of rifles and even handguns. The original D60 is for the AR 15, and the OG D50 is designed for the AR 10. Then they released D50 series drums for the CZ Scorpion, the MP5, the Glock pistols, and Glock-based PCCs. They are seemingly unstoppable at this point.

If you just want a drum for fun, the Korean-made KCI drums are a blast. They are made for the AR-15, for various caliber Glocks, and even the AK 74 and Mini 14 series rifles.

Some Ammo

Maybe you have a new gun, or maybe you have a new drum, or maybe both. Either way, you’ll need ammo. Having a new gun and a drum means you need some ammo, and having either without ammo is like getting a toy without batteries. Ammo gives you the ability to hit the range, turn money into noise, and get that precious gunpowder therapy in.

Ammo is always good to have.

Do you need ammo? We have you covered! You can get the good stuff for defensive shooting or the cheap stuff for training. We have whatever you need to get to the range and make some noise.

A Handgun Red Dot

If your handgun doesn’t have a dot, you’re living in 2013. It’s time to move forward and get the best sighting system currently on the market. A handgun red dot allows you to shoot faster, further, and with greater accuracy. Handgun red dots are the future, and there are tons and tons of awesome ones out there.

The ROMEO2 allows you to swap between enclosed and open emitter optics.

My latest heat has been the Sig ROMEO2. The ROMEO2 is the first modular red dot on the market that allows you to convert it from an open red dot to an enclosed option. This allows you to get the red dot sight you want regardless of what you want. It’s also a tough, rock-solid red dot sight that features a crisp dot and unbeatable durability.

On small guns, I’ve been a big fan of the Holosun EPS series. The EPS is an enclosed red dot sight that’s designed for small guns and mates to a Shield RMSc footprint. The little optic offers a nice big dot and comes in various configurations and price points.

That’s not to say there aren’t any other dots out there. There are plenty of solid, well-made options and even plenty of affordable pistol red dots.

A Freakin Laser Beam

More than a laser beam, but a Laser Academy. The Mantis Laser Academy is a combination of a laser cartridge that fits in your firearm and an app on your phone. You point your phone at a special target, and it reads the target and keeps track of where your shots land. The system makes it easy to get some effective dry fire practice in.

The complete system is a ton of fun and really delivers nice feedback when dry firing and training. The Mantis Laser Academy is one of the more fun systems out there to spice up your dry fire practice, and it’s likely one of the more useful long-term investments on this list.

Some American Steel

If you get bored of dry fire and want to hit the range, consider taking some good old-fashioned American steel with you. Caldwell’s steel targets offer a reusable, high-quality, high-visibility option for all your shooting needs. Steel targets and the instant feedback they deliver make shooting so much fun. These big chunks of AR 500 steel are tough to beat and are an awesome option if you like hearing a ding with every shot fired.

That Thing You Actually Need

Lots of us have guns, ammo, and holsters and have our concealed carry figured out, accessorized with flashlights, knives, and more. However, lots of concealed carriers are lacking on the medical side of their EDC. If you can poke holes, you should be able to patch those holes up.

You could certainly drive down the highway with an IFAK pouch like this in your hands all the time, but eventually, your arm might get tired. And what if you’re driving a standard transmission, or if you forget to pick it up when you walk out of the house? Better to have a more permanent option in the vehicle – which gives you some redundancy if you’re already carrying a kit.

Medical kits are a must-have. Just a little medicine goes a long way and gives you to capability to self-rescue or rescue another. Medical kits come in all sizes, and the My Medic Kits we sell range from pocket to plate carrier sized.

A Mother-Trucking Flame Thrower

Now that we’ve got what you need out of the way let’s talk about what we want—a mother trucking flame thrower. Yep, that’s right, a flame thrower! Perfectly legal in roughly 48 states and shipped directly to your door. Wanna feel the power of the sun? Well, I can’t give you that, but I can get you pretty close with an Exothermic Flamethrower.

Who doesn’t want a flamethrower?

Heck, we even have one that can attach to the bottom of your AR-15 just in case you want to give USA Today a run for their money on AR15 attachments.

Tax Day For All

It’s the government’s favorite day! The day they get our cold hard dinero. Well, luckily, some of us get a little back, and with that in mind, it’s time to buy some freedom!
