Taurus 856 T.O.R.O. and PHLster City Special Partnership

Taurus is making its new Taurus 856 T.O.R.O. revolver even better by announcing its partnership with PHLster. The new partnership brings the 856 and the 856 T.O.R.O. revolvers to compatibility with the PHLster City Special holsters.

“This has been a long time coming,” said Caleb Giddings, General Manager of Marketing for Taurus USA. “When we started planning the 856 T.O.R.O., one of my first phone calls was to the team at PHLster. The fact that they’re offering holsters for both the optics-ready gun and the standard 856 is just icing on the cake.”

PHLster City Special Holster Features

The PHLster City Special holster is a great fit for the small-frame revolver. This IWB (in-the-waistband) holster takes the sharp muzzles and rounds them out with the exterior of the holster to increase the wearer’s comfort. The holster also features an adjustable retention for a custom fit and draw feel. The holster has a 1.5” clip for a quick grab-and-go install, and an included Modwing which uses the pressure from the belt to push the pistol grip inward for less printing.

The City Special holsters are slim and fully ambidextrous, making them a perfect option for carry with the Taurus 856 model revolvers. The T.O.R.O. (Taurus Optics Ready Option) model of the 856 revolver has a three-inch barrel and is chambered in .38 Special, making it a good option for carry. The 856 T.O.R.O is unique in the small revolver category in that it can hold six rounds. Additionally, the small frame and light weight of the T.O.R.O. make it a natural choice to carry for revolver users. With many different models to choose from, besides the T.O.R.O., there is sure to be one to fit the user’s needs.

While the holster arrives from PHLster in a right-hand orientation, it is ambidextrous and includes hardware to swap to the carry orientation if needed. If that wasn’t enough, the holster is optimized to work with PHLster’s popular Enigma system for use under form-fitted clothing. The City Special and Enigma have compatibility with many other small revolvers from Taurus.

The PHLster City Special holster for the Taurus 856 and 856 T.O.R.O revolvers is available now with an MSRP of $88.

Patti Miller is one of the most awesome females in the tactical/firearm (or any) industry. Imagine a tall, hawt, dangerous Laura Ingalls Wilder type with cool hair and a suppressed blaster and you'll be getting the idea. What's interesting is that in addition to being a willing brawler and intrepid adventuress, she's also an Ent/Ogier level gardener and a truly badass baker.
