In 2021, Springfield Armory released its 2020 Waypoint bolt-action rifle series after years of research and development. Since their release, the rifles have been heralded as some of the best high-caliber bolt-action rifles on the market. What does a company do when they hit a home run? Step back up to the plate and go for another one!

Now, in 2024, the Waypoint family is growing again with the introduction of 20 new variations of the 2020 Waypoint rifle line in a long-action variety.

The big advancement here is the custom-grade Model 2020 action. With this action, the tolerances of these rifles are unmatched. The bolt is fluted and can be disassembled without the need for tools. The new long-actions still include the Cerakote-finished action, which features an integral recoil lug. The action is also machined from pre-hardened stainless steel.

This rifle is lightweight and durable due to its 100% carbon fiber stock. These stocks come in fixed and adjustable configurations. They also feature QD mounts and M-LOK slots for mounting all kinds of goodies. The stock comes hand-painted in either Evergreen or Ridgeline Camo.

Two barrel options are also released, including a standard fluted stainless steel option and an impressive carbon fiber-sleeved barrel. The carbon fiber barrel provides reduced weight and cooling channels that boast improved “cold bore to warm bore repeatability.”

These impressive rifles have chambering options of 7mm Remmington Magnum, 7mm PRC, .300 Winchester Magnum, 300 PRC, .270 Winchester, and good ole .30-06. The MSRP ranges from $2,173 to $2,670.
