Almost two decades removed after the last of its kind left their custom shop, Colt reintroduced the Python revolver in .357 Magnum in 2020. Just in time for the 2024 SHOT Show, the classic four-inch barrel blued Colt Python has returned.

Originally, the new generation of Colt Pythons were all stainless steel revolvers. However, Colt has now introduced the model in the original royal blue finish. Otherwise, it’s the same best-selling revolver we’ve come to love once again. The Python is a double/single-action revolver with a six-shot capacity. Like the stainless guns, the blued Python comes with a pair of handsome Altamont combat grips that are relieved for speedloaders.
“The classic carbon steeled Blued Python serves as a passport to a bygone era, where firearms were not just tools but also exquisite works of art,” stated Justin Baldini, Vice President of Marketing at Colt Firearms.
The blued Pythons are now available with a 4.25 or 6-inch vent-ribbed and full underlug barrel. As always, these Pythons are chambered for the potent .357 Magnum cartridge, although .38 Special ammunition of any flavor is suitable as well.
The new blued Pythons are a worthy addition for any handgun hunter, film buff, or revolver aficionado. These new models are shipping now with an MSRP of $1599.
