The FN 509 series of polymer frame striker-fired semi-automatic pistols first hit the market in 2017 and since has expanded to include tactical, midsize, and compact variants. For the 2024 SHOT Show, FN America announced several new additions to the series, including brand-new models, limited-time colors and configurations, as well as accessories that provide users with next-level performance upgrades for their pistol, designed and made by the manufacturer.

The CC Edge slide with quick-detach compensator reduces muzzle rise by 25%. The full-sized LS Edge frame with improved texturing delivers an extremely flat shooting experience.

The 509 CC Edge XL is available now with an MSRP of $1,629.

The FN 509 Fullsize MRD complements the series’ Compact and Midsize MRD models. The slide is equipped with the company’s patented Low-Profile Optics-Mounting System for a full-sized duty-style pistol for personal or home defense. The slide’s additional length provides a longer sight radius for improved accuracy. In addition, the slide’s added weight and longer length complements the full-sized frame, resulting in an easy to shoot pistol.

The Fullsize MRD’s MSRP has not been announced.

In addition, the proprietary auto-indexing compensator delivers full-sized performance in a compact package. The compact further comes standard with one 12 and one 15-round magazine. Its optics mounting system accepts nearly all major optic footprints and features all-black co-witness iron sights. Finally, its ambidextrous controls were designed to aid with manipulation while the texturing on the two included backstraps provides better recoil management.

The 509 Compact MRD w/Compensator is available now with an MSRP of $999.

FN Compensator Accessory Kit

The FN Compensator Accessory Kit requires no shims or threading.

FN America also introduced FN Compensator Kits for shooters to upgrade their 509 Standard, Compact, or Midsize handguns. First introduced on the CC Edge, the compensator and barrel’s unique QD design features toolless install and removal in minutes. Designed to reduce muzzle rise by 25%, it also decreases felt recoil with v-style ports. In addition, the ports vector gases and flash out of the user’s field of view.

The FN Compensator Accessory Kit has an MSRP of $349, and it is available now.

The new additions to the FN 509 are exhibited at booth #12805 during the 2024 SHOT Show.
