NEW: Trijicon Ruggedized Closed Reflex [RCR] Optic

Trijicon has released its new RCR or Ruggedized Closed Reflex optic, saying it is an extremely durable closed emitter optic that meets the standards for military and law enforcement users when a compact sealed emitter is required.

Trijicon took the RMR [Ruggedized Miniature Reflex] and updated the idea with the RCR. The RCR is said to be exceptionally robust both mechanically and electronically, setting a new standard. Constructed from 7075-T6 aluminum, the Trijicon RCR uses the RMR patented shape and absorbs recoil and impacts to keep the lens secure. The housing for the RCR is rated waterproof up to 66 feet.

The RCR uses Trijicon’s new capstan screw design, meaning it can mount on any slide or plate that uses the RMR footprint. With the capstan screw system means there is no worry of over-torquing, cross-threading, or stripping out screw heads, and provides a solid connection for the optic. On top of that, the RCR has the same deck height as an RMR so compatible iron sights can still be used.

The Trijicon RCR comes equipped with 10 brightness settings for the user to manually choose, in addition to the three night vision options and one super bright setting. Like the new RMR HD optic, the RCR is powered by one CR2032 top-loaded battery. That means there is no concern about having to re-confirm the zero when swapping out batteries. The company states that swapping batteries shouldn’t be much of a concern with a 6-year battery life for the RCR using brightness level 5.

The lens of the RCR provides a wide-band true-color light transmission that provides only a minimal change in the target area color. The 3.25 MOA red dot is easily adjusted for elevation and windage without special tools. For the adjustments, each click of adjustment equals 1 MOA, all the way up to 150 MOA.

In addition to all the features of the new RCR, the upgraded electronics are said to ensure performance and survivability in harsh conditions. It comes from the factory with a CR2032 battery, hex Allen wrench, needed mounting capstan screws, manual and torque guide with Loctite. The Trijicon RCR optic has an MSRP of $849.

Patti Miller is one of the most awesome females in the tactical/firearm (or any) industry. Imagine a tall, hawt, dangerous Laura Ingalls Wilder type with cool hair and a suppressed blaster and you'll be getting the idea. What's interesting is that in addition to being a willing brawler and intrepid adventuress, she's also an Ent/Ogier level gardener and a truly badass baker.
