New PX-5.7 Optics Ready Pistol Now Available From Tisas USA

Despite the widespread adoption of the 9x19mm Parabellum cartridge, NATO officials sought a replacement that could provide greater range, accuracy, and terminal performance in the 1990s. The result was the FN Herstal designed 5.7x28mm, and while the international military alliance has only slowly adopted the cartridge, it has steadily gained a following around the world.

This month, Tisas USA, a division of SDS Imports, announced the introduction of the PX-5.7 Optics Ready handgun – which is just the latest civilian offering to be chambered for the cartridge.

“The popularity and interest in the 5.7x28mm cartridge continues to grow,” said SDS/Tisas USA CEO Tim Mulverhill. “And Tisas is meeting that demand with the new PX-5.7 (OR).”

PX-5.7 Optics Ready Pistol
The Tisas USA PX-5.7 Optics Ready is chambered for the increasingly popular 5.7x28mm round.

The Tisas PX-5.7 features an optics-ready slide with an RMSc cut footprint and an optic plate for the RMR footprint. The gun also includes an optics plate cover for users who choose to use iron sights. This is now the only 5.7x28mm pistol on the market with an integrated optics-ready feature.

The polymer-frame PX-5.7 further offers a tactical trigger with an integrated trigger safety, an integrated Picatinny rail for the mounting of lasers or lights, and a reversible magazine catch. It has an adjustable rear sight and fiber optic front sight, loaded chamber indicator and striker status, and a proprietary 20-round steel magazine with a black baseplate.
