Gemtech Suppressors has announced its newest suppressor, the Abyss 7.62. It joins the Abyss 5.56 in the Abyss family and uses five of Gemtech’s patent-pending technologies for the new line. The Abyss 7.62 has a proprietary design that reduces muzzle flash and provides sound mitigation, all while reducing gas blowback. Less blowback means a more comfortable shooting experience and more reliability with follow-up shots.
Constructed from 17-4PH stainless steel with 6AL4V titanium, the Abyss 7.62 tube has a greater wall thickness than many of the competitor suppressors, but at the same or slightly less weight.
The Abyss 7.62 has a caliber rating from 5.7×28 up through 300 Win Mag, and even better, it’s fully automatic and short barrel rated. It uses Gemtech’s ETM, or the Elite Taper Mount, as the quick attach mounting system, and is included from the factory. This system ensures the user gets repeatable perfect alignment each time it’s mounted while resisting carbon lock.
Also, the Gemtech Abyss 7.62 uses the GM-S1 End Cap design that minimizes flash during shooting from the first shot through the last shot. The engineers designed the suppressor for hard use, and say the suppressor redefines what performance to expect from a hard use suppressor.
The suppressor includes everything the end user would need to mount and use the suppressor right out of the box, including all necessary mounts and a carry pouch for easy storage. The suppressor has an overall length of 6.6 inches without the mount, or 7.3 inches with the ETM, and a diameter of 1.64 inches. Weighing just 16.3 ounces without the mount, or 20 ounces with the mount, the suppressor is a short and lightweight option for shooters.
The Gemtech Abyss 7.62 suppressor is made in the US and is available now with a price tag of $945.
