Ed Brown Products has announced a limited-edition 1911 pistol, the 1911 EVO CCO9. For over 50 years, Ed Brown Products has given the market high-end custom 1911 pistols and components and the new pistol is no different. The new EVO CCO9 pistol takes components from a few other pistols from Ed Brown and brings them into one model, for a short time.
The 1911 EVO CCO9 pistol takes Ed Brown’s officer-sized frame and a shorter slide for ultimate concealability while maintaining features from the EVO Series. According to the company, the EVO CCO9 is purpose-built for the 9mm platform and features a smaller frame for concealment along with a thinned-down 4” slide. The pistol also features a recessed slide stop with a serrated pin, a redesigned smaller “Tactical Edge” u-notch rear sight, and an orange HDXR front sight for a smaller package.
“Our EVO line consists of our purpose-built 9mm sized 1911’s. Optimized for 9mm, the CCO9 is our smallest and thinnest 1911 yet,” said Dave Biggers, Director of Sales and Marketing at Ed Brown Products. The smallest being just 7.5” long with a slide thickness of 0.86” and an overall weight of around 34 ounces unloaded.
The EVO CCO9 1911 sports a snakeskin texture on the forestrap and mainspring housing of the grip which matches up well with the black cherry G10 grips. With updated features such as a new external extractor, a bull barrel with a recessed crown, and a flat wire recoil spring system for the 1911 platform, the new pistol is as much at home in current days as it was in the past.
Along with the Concealed Carry Beavertail grip safety, the pistol has a single-side, tactical profile thumb safety so it is safe to carry, regardless of concealment. As with all Ed Brown products, this new 1911 pistol is manufactured in the family’s facility and has a lifetime warranty. The Ed Brown EVO CCO9 1911 9mm pistol is only around for a limited time and has an MSRP of $2,995.
