Davidson’s Delivers Replica Single Action Army Revolver in .44 Magnum

Screen legend Clint Eastwood will forever be remembered for two of his most famous characters—the man with no name in the 1960s trilogy of Westerns and San Francisco Police detective “Dirty” Harry Callahan. The former character carried the Colt 1873 Single Action Army Revolver in “A Fist Full of Dollars,” while Dirty Harry took pride in his .44 Magnum.

For 2024, Davidson’s announced it has collaborated with Italian-based Pietta – known worldwide for their authentic historical firearms reproduction – to introduce a new 1873 Single Action chambered in .44 Remington Magnum. This release builds on the success of earlier Davidson’s Pietta 1873 Western single-action revolvers.

The new offering is a modern departure from Davidson’s earlier Pietta 1873 exclusives as it is the first offering in this caliber, while it features a transfer bar safety to allow safe loading of all six rounds. It is also outfitted with a

large ramp front sight coupled with an adjustable rear target sight, along with a 7.5-inch cold hammer-forged barrel, unfluted six-round cylinder, knurled hammer, walnut grips, and a deep-blued finish.

“Single-action revolvers of this type and in this caliber have been exceedingly scarce in recent years, and Davidson’s is proud to bring this 100% Italian made exclusive to the US market,” the company said in its announcement.

Davidson’s Pietta 1873 Single Action chambered in .44 Remington Magnum is now arriving at retail with an MSRP of $1,100.
