The Springfield Hellion 5.56 Bullpup: Now In Color

The Croatian-made Springfield Armory Hellion shook up the stagnating bullpup community when it was introduced to the American market a few years ago. If you are into black rifles or bullpups specifically, the Hellion might suit your fancy. But if you want something more discriminating, consider Springfield’s new Hellion models in FDE, OD Green, and Gray.

The Springfield Armory Hellion is available in more colors, but it is the same versatile platform bullpup aficionados have come to expect. The Hellion has a two-position telescoping buttstock that brings the length of the rifle down to only 28.25 inches while maintaining the legal and ballistic advantages of a 16-inch carbine barrel. Further, the Hellion is fully ambidextrous, including the magazine release, thumb safety, charging handle, and bolt stop. Shoot, even the ejection pattern can be swapped to the other side to accommodate left-handed shooters. No sights are included from the factory, but the full-length Picatinny rail atop the rifle readily accepts the optic or irons of your choice. The abbreviated M-Lok handguard also gives you ample options to mount a foregrip or weapons light.

The Hellion takes proven and common AR-15 magazines and ships with one 30-round Magpul PMAG. The rifle can also ship with a 10-round magazine to meet the legalities in states that require it. These color models are now available with an MSRP of $1,999.
