Smith & Wesson Brings Limited-Edition Model 1854 Set to Auction

In January, Smith & Wesson announced the release of its first-ever series of lever-action rifles, the S&W Model 1854 Series to commemorate the 170th anniversary of the company’s founders’ Horace Smith & Daniel Wesson patent for their first lever gun. Honoring that historic milestone, the Model 1854 Series incorporates the feel of Smith & Wesson’s revered large-frame revolvers.

Now to further pay homage to the original lever-action rifle, S&W is partnering with online auction site GunBroker.com for the release of a limited-edition engraved Model 1854 rifle and matching numbered Model 29 revolver set. The company has produced just 100 sets of the matched pair of .44 Magnums – and each has been engraved with 22-karat gold inlay done by the renowned Baron Engraving.

The limited-edition set further features a PVD gloss black finish, complemented by high-grade walnut furniture, highlighting its craftsmanship while yielding the classic aesthetic. The set further comes with a display case and a letter of authenticity from Smith & Wesson President & CEO Mark Smith, detailing the set’s origin and limited status.

Serial numbers 001 of 100 of the set were made available for auction on GunBroker.com beginning on February 27th, with the auctions ending on March 10th. Proceeds from the auction will be donated to noted conservation organizations Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation (RMEF) and Safari Club International (SCI) in support of their initiatives and wildlife conservation advocacy.
