KGM Technologies has gotten another step closer to bringing the Fischer Development (FD) pistol suppressor to the US as the FDP Suppressor. KGM has announced the licensing and production agreement with FD, which allows KGM to produce the suppressor within the US.
“We are excited to join forces with Fischer Development to bring their state-of-the-art suppressors to a broader audience,” stated Kyle Grob, Founder and Chief Technology Officer (CTO) for KGM Technologies. “This collaboration underscores our commitment to providing the latest advancements in firearm technology to our customers.”
So, what’s the big deal about the 9mm FDP suppressor and its related muzzle devices? The distinctive attachment method and profile help set the suppressor apart from the competitors. The suppressor attaches to the host weapon via the integral frame rails rather than a threaded barrel. With a quick attach method with a patented latch, the suppressor can be mounted and removed easily and quickly.
The FPD has a distinct rectangular shape but isn’t bulky as it will reportedly come at just one inch wide. The design of the suppressor keeps the weight forward, aiding in muzzle rise and recoil mitigation. The FDP is constructed from an anodized aluminum alloy for exceptional strength and durability.
“We believe that this licensing and production agreement will offer a unique capability for firearm enthusiasts and professionals alike. The Fischer Development suppressors have brought intrigue to consumers and end-users alike, and we are proud to be at the forefront of introducing these products to the market,” added Kyle Grob.
The FDP is expected to be a versatile suppressor for any enthusiast, especially since it can be run wet or dry, and used with both sub- and supersonic ammunition. KGM anticipates the release of the FDP suppressor early- to mid-2024, if not sooner. The company expects the suppressor to be available in black and FDE color options.
