SHOT Show 2024: Taurus 327 Defender TORO

For over 80 years, Taurus has made no-nonsense revolvers. Most recently, their TORO (Taurus Optic Ready Option) represents a quantum leap in the wheelgun industry. Taurus’s TORO guns are among the first factory optics ready revolvers like their autoloading counterparts. New for 2024, the Taurus 327 Defender TORO is an optics ready wheelgun chambered in the versatile .327 Federal Magnum.

When the .327 Federal Magnum’s smaller .32 caliber round is chambered in a .38 or .357 caliber small-framed revolvers, you get six rounds instead of five. In addition, the already-established .32 S&W, .32 S&W Long, and .32 H&R Magnum are backwards compatible with the .327, allowing you to shoot these lower powered rounds if you choose. The Taurus TORO Defender in .327 is such a revolver with its 6-round capacity.

“As a die-hard revolver enthusiast and 32 caliber aficionado, this is basically the coolest CCW revolver ever,” remarked Caleb Giddings, Taurus USA’s General Manager of Marketing, “Six rounds, small frame, great trigger, optics ready, and it’s double action only like every proper fighting revolver should be. If I could design a perfect every-day carry revolver, I can’t imagine how it would be any different than this.”

The 327 Defender TORO’s 3-inch barrel gives you the best ballistic advantage without sacrificing comfort or concealment. The all-steel 327 Defender TORO comes with standard fixed rear notch and front blade iron sights. The top strap is also milled for Holosun K-footprint optics.

The new 327 TORO is shipping now and has an MSRP of $454.99.
