SHOT Show 2024: Ruger LC Carbine .45 ACP

Ruger first introduced its LC Carbine — as in “light and compact” — way back in 1987. Updated in recent years for several popular cartridges, it has remained a simple rifle for hunting and recreational shooting. For 2024, the Ruger LC Carbine .45 ACP has been added to the LC Carbine lineup.

This new standard model features Ruger’s same unique — but proven — bolt-over-barrel design, but now in .45 ACP. The magazine in the grip design allows for excellent balance and control. In addition, the reversible folding stock offers an adjustable length of pull. If inclined, commonly availably AR-pattern stocks can easily replace the factory stock. Ruger’s collapsible Rapid Deploy folding sights allow for easy storage and are windage and elevation adjustable. The rear of the receiver is also equipped with a Picatinny rail for maximum accessory compatibility.

The Ruger LC Carbine .45 ACP also features a 16.25-inch alloy steel threaded barrel with thread protector. The .578-28 threaded barrel allows attachment of popular muzzle accessories including muzzle brakes, flash hiders, and caliber-appropriate suppressors.

Ideal as a truck gun or for hiking in the wilds, this .45 ACP offering of the LC Carbine features an ergonomic design with ambidextrous manual safety, reversible charging handle, ergonomic bolt release, and extended magazine release. It also utilizes Ruger’s safe, reliable, and proven Secure Action fire-control system combining a protected internal hammer with a bladed safety trigger. Safety features include: 1911-style ambidextrous manual safety, integrated trigger safety, lightweight firing pin, and neutrally balanced sear with significant engagement and strong spring tension.

The LC Carbine’s CNC-milled handguard is made of Type III hard-coat anodized aluminum for maximum durability. In addition, the handguard includes seven sides of M-LOK accessory attachment slots and multiple QD sling sockets for maximum versatility. The rifle accepts commonly available Glock-pattern full-size magazines.
