SHOT Show is more than just ten different gun shows rolled into one. There is plenty of ammo debuting at SHOT as well with some for these new guns and others for the oldest of them. This year Federal Premium is debuting a new load for the new .30 Super Carry round and self-defense loads for the elderly .25 ACP and .32 ACP!
New Target Ammo
.30 Super Carry was introduced by Federal in 2022 as a go-between .380 ACP and 9mm Luger. A few makers have gone on to produce self-defense hollow-points for the .30 Super Carry. Truly viable cartridges need a good practice round. This year, Federal answered that request with the new .30 Super Carry 90-grain FMJ load. This brass-cased non-expanding round is made for the range. In addition, Federal’s Champion line of target ammunition will include new loadings for the 95-grain .380 ACP and 130-grain .38 Special.
New Defense Ammo
The lauded Federal Punch defensive line now features two rounds not normally seen at SHOT Show — .25 ACP and .32 ACP. The new .25 ACP load will be a 45-grain solid bullet for added penetration compared to conventional 35-grain hollow points. The .32 ACP load gets a facelift as part of Federal’s Hydra-Shok line. This load will use a 68-grain bonded jacketed hollow point bullet.
