SHOT 2024: Rock River Arms BT-2 Ambidextrous Tactical Rifle

If you’re left-handed like me, you quickly learn to improvise, adapt, and overcome in a right-handed world. Unfortunately, firearms are mostly setup for the 90% who are not wrong-handed. That is especially true in the rifle world where the AR-15 dominates. However, there are increasingly better options to accommodate both hands. New for Shot Show 2024 is the Rock River Arms BT-2 Ambidextrous Tactical Rifle.

The BT-2 ATR is an AR-platform rifle chambered in 5.56mm NATO that’s set up for left-handed and right-handed shooters. The rifle uses the excellent Radian Raptor charging handle. Furthermore, the Raptor’s reliable design works from either side of the rifle. The specially machined 7075 series billet aluminum lower receiver includes ambidextrous bolt and magazine releases as well as an ambi safety selector switch.

Beyond these features, the BT-2 ATR is an exceptional rifle as one would come to expect from Rock River Arms. It features an aluminum upper and a 13-inch Rock River Arms free-floated M-LOK handguard. The handguard is setup for a quick detach sling swivel mount on either the left or right side.

The handguard wraps around a 16-inch 1:9 twist chrome-lined barrel best suited for 55-grain M193 ammunition. The threaded muzzle wears a standard A2 flash hider. To top off the package, Rock River has included a two-stage Ultra Match trigger group with a 4.5-5 lb. trigger press as well as a six-position telescoping buttstock and Hogue beavertail pistol grip.

The new southpaw friendly Rock River Arms Ambidextrous Tactical Rifle is shipping now and has an MSRP of $2,110.
