SHOT 2024: Lucid Optics E7 Blue Reflex Sight

Lucid Optics is bringing impressive innovation to the market with their E7 reflex sight featuring a blue aiming point. For years, red dots have long been king in the firearms world while green dots held their own for popularity among a certain segment of shooters. With the introduction of a reflex sight with a blue aiming point, Lucid Optics opens a whole new world of optics possibilities.

For SHOT Show 2024, Lucid Optics is showcasing the world’s first blue reflex sight. The new sight, the E7, is designed to be compatible with both pistol and rifle applications. This sight has stood up to rigorous testing including the expected torture from vibration and temperatures related to hard use. As such, the Lucid Optics E7 can handle a semi-auto pistol slide’s recoil. It’s also suitable for shotgun mounting. This sight can be a standalone or serve as a backup. Also, the E7 is operationally parallax-free with a good field of view for the greatest possible accuracy with a zeroed sight.

Lucid Optics offered this explanation regarding the E7’s blue aiming point:

  • In the transmitted color spectrum, blue is the fastest.
  • The human eye is more sensitive to blue wavelengths than any other in the spectrum.
  • Blue illumination presents a clean reticle edge.
  • The most easily refracted wavelength for the human eye is blue.
  • Blue Creates a “Circadian” rhythm, calming the human mind and reduces stress levels.
  • Less than .02% of people have a color blindness to Blue.
  • As an illuminated aiming point, blue allows for a reduced brightness level so the reticle is “seen through” for a more positive target identification.

The E7 measures 2.5 by 2 by 2 inches and utilizes Lucid’s high efficiency LED transmitter and M5 reticle. In addition, Lucid reports this sight is 30% faster to target than a standard dot.MSRP for the Lucid Optics E7 is $299.99. SHOT 2024 attendees can visit booth #70750 for a closer look.
