As the name implies, American Defense Manufacturing produces AR platform rifles to the standards one would judge for duty applications. However, what is best for duty may not pan out if you are a modern hunter seeking the best performance out of the AR. For long hunting applications, the rifle is but one part of your gear as part of your pack. Light does not always mean capable, but both are required and both can be satisfied with the new ADM Lightweight UIC Carbon Hunter in the new 6mm ARC cartridge.
The UIC Mod. 2 rifle is the ADM AR at its most refined. It features an ambidextrous safety selector and charging handle. Unlike other ambi rifles, its magazine and bolt release work on both sides of the rifle, whether you are left or right-handed. The defining feature of the UIC Carbon Hunter is its unloaded weight of 6.5 pounds and its chambering in 6mm ARC.
The 7075 series aluminum lower is skeletonized at the magazine well and the 15-inch M-Lock handguard earns the same treatment. It uses a BSF barrel, which produces a lightweight 416 stainless steel match barrel that is then shrouded with carbon fiber to keep it lightweight and easy-cooling for those times when fast, accurate follow-up shots are needed in the field.
The UIC Carbon Hunter is chambered in the 6mm ARC. It uses proven bullet designs for the venerable .243 Winchester cartridge but with a shorter and more generous case capacity for flexible and accurate performance out of the AR.
This new rifle comes with the option of either an 18- or 22-inch barrel and either a Magpul SL or PRS Lite buttstock. For greater recoil control over this featherlight rifle, the UIC Carbon Hunter comes with the option of a Dead Air Keymo, HuxWrx, or Surefire Warcomp muzzle devices. These new rifles are a special edition and available for pre-order at an MSRP of $3,000.
