Taurus Unveils new G3XL Pistol

Taurus just announced the latest addition to its popular G-Series of personal defense handguns with the new G3XL pistol. A manufacturer of handguns for defense, hunting, and sport shooting, this is the company’s new take on a striker-fired pistol in an EDC 9mm designed pistol.

Taurus recently announced their newest personal defense handgun to their G-Series, the G3XL. This full-sized 9mm is Taurus’s new take on the traditional striker-fired pistol in a range-friendly polymer frame.

The new Taurus G3XL pistol was designed to deliver the accuracy of a full-sized pistol in a smaller concealed carry package. The full-sized slide and barrel assembly from the G3 is brought over to the G3XL pistol and has an all-steel slide with a black Tenifer matte finish. The finish helps resist wear and corrosion for the everyday carry option.

Inside the full-sized slide of the G3XL is a four-inch barrel that, together, allow for a longer sight radius. It also helps contribute to a higher degree of shot accuracy and higher velocity for an increase in terminal performance.

According to Taurus, the new G3XL builds on the proven foundation that has made the compact G-series among the most popular personal defense/EDC handguns ever while advancing function, reliability, and durability to the next level.

The polymer frame on the Taurus G3XL has a compact grip that is easily concealed when holstered in either inside the waistband or outside the waistband in casual clothing. The G3XL is has a smooth draw and re-holstering thanks to the engineers at Taurus who reduced the length of the accessory rail and removed the manual safety lever.

The G3XL was purpose-built without the manual safety lever for a faster draw and fire while under duress. It has a six-pound trigger with a crisp, clean break for quick and controlled follow-up shots, according to Taurus.

The Taurus G3XL has all the features of the original striker-fired full-sized pistol, but in an everyday carry friendly compact frame. The full-sized slide and four-inch barrel that work together for a longer sight radius, improved accuracy and higher velocity for rounds fired.

Coming with two 12-round magazines, the G3XL has a good carry size and profile, with a 10-round model available as well. Additionally, if you want more rounds at your disposal, the G3XL also accepts the 15-round and 17-round magazines.

In keeping with the Taurus G-series reputation for class-leading performance-to-cost ratio, the new G3XL features an MSRP of only $342.98 — a seemingly good balance of power, performance, and price.
