Features of the 7mm PRC cartridge include:
- Designed for a maximum cartridge overall length of 3.340 inches
- 1 in 8 twist rate to stabilize the heaviest 7mm bullets.
- Target muzzle velocity of 3000fps from a 24-inch test barrel using 175gr and 180gr bullets.
- Non-belted, shoulder headspacing cartridge resulting in good chamber alignment.
- The cartridge and chamber were designed concurrently with the same design methodology as the 6.5 Creedmoor.
