Features of the 7mm PRC cartridge include:

  • Designed for a maximum cartridge overall length of 3.340 inches
  • 1 in 8 twist rate to stabilize the heaviest 7mm bullets.
  • Target muzzle velocity of 3000fps from a 24-inch test barrel using 175gr and 180gr bullets.
  • Non-belted, shoulder headspacing cartridge resulting in good chamber alignment.
  • The cartridge and chamber were designed concurrently with the same design methodology as the 6.5 Creedmoor.
