Use of the Apex Tactical Magazine Base Pad Extension gives you a larger surface to grasp during magazine changes which facilitates the speed with which you can strip the mag from your gun. For shooters with large hands the extension also functions as extra real estate to use as a finger rest. These same features also mean it’s easier to grab magazines from their holsters and makes them more readily identifiable as yours at the range or while taking classes.
Installing the extension is relatively simple. A single set screw holds the extension in place, and the Allen Key required to install it is included with the magazine base pad extension. When installing, it is necessary to remove the factory base pad retainer. No gunsmith is needed to put this on your FNX-45 magazines.
