Specifically engineered for concealed-carry applications, the Beretta® 85FS is a lightweight semi-auto pistol, built around a reliable double-action/single-action trigger system, and a frame-mounted safety/de-cocker for safe handling and enhanced reliability while on the move. The forged aircraft-quality aluminum alloy frame features an open top slide similar to the M9 design, engineered to eliminate feeding and ejection-related failures, while the durable black finish protects against sweat, sand, dirt, and debris. The fixed, milled iron sights deliver quick, intuitive target acquisition, while aggressive rear slide serrations offer a positive, non-slip grip for reliable slide manipulation, speedy reloads, and quick clearing. The Beretta 85FS also features multiple internal safeties, including an ambidextrous thumb safety, a built-in firing pin block that prevents the firing pin from moving or striking cartridge primers without the trigger being pulled, and a firing pin striker, engineered to rotate and disengage when the safety lever is engaged to prevent the firing pin from contacting primers, even if the hammer falls, for safe, confident carry with a round in the chamber for quick deployment and enhanced reliability.
