If you demand the utmost precision and quality from your rifles and want smaller calibers, the VF-ORYX from Volquartsen is the way to go. The VF-ORYX is available in a variety of calibers including 22 WMR and 17 HMR and is designed to deliver reliable, consistent performance.
The VF-ORYX is now offered in the aforementioned 22 WMR and 17 HMR. These rifles are specifically made to perform well for both competition and hunting purposes. They feature a Volquartsen Snake Fluted Barrel threaded into a CNC-machined stainless steel receiver for accuracy, longevity, and consistent performance. These features serve to increase rigidity between the barrel and the action which translates to greater results on target. In addition, the barrel has a laser-hardened breech face for even better durability.
These rifles also feature CNC-machined and wire-EDM internal components for superior reliability. A CNC-machined tungsten bolt is used that also has a round titanium firing pin and tuned extractor for even better function. As for the trigger, a TG2000 trigger group is used for a clean 2.25-pound trigger pull that’s set at the factory. Pretravel and overtravel can be adjusted by the user according to personal preferences.
The VF-ORYX utilizes the ORYX chassis from MDT. This is a one-piece integrated aluminum chassis and buttstock made to improve the gun’s overall accuracy. The chassis features a free-floating barrel, contoured forend grip, adjustable cheek riser, and overmolded pistol grip. There’s also a .25-inch spacer in the buttpad so the length of pull can be adjusted to better fit the user.
Features of the VF-ORYX include:
- Chambered in 22 WMR and 17 HMR.
- Adjustable for length of pull using included spacer.
- 2.25-pound trigger pull weight.
- Picatinny rail atop the receiver for the addition of optics.
- Fluted 20.5-inch barrel.
- MDT chassis for durability and accuracy.
MSRP for the Volquartsen VF-ORYX is set at $2335.50 for guns chambered in 17 HMR and 22 WMR.
