It might not be the most exciting part of the gun to enhance, but putting in a new guide rod can make quite a difference. This Tungsten Guide Rod made by the Glock Store for Gen 5 Glocks is designed to enhance accuracy, speed up reacquiring targets, and improve strength and durability. It’s compatible with the Glock 17, 22, 34, 19, 19X, 45, and 47. There is a Glock 26 compatible version available as well.

This is a heavy tungsten guide rod that utilizes the same factory-weight springs, only with a far tougher tungsten body. Felt recoil can also be improved with the addition of this guide rod. The Glock Store offers a variety of different colored end pieces including stainless steel, black, gold, red, blue, FDE, and pink. You might not have considered the guide rod of your Glock as a component worth replacing, but it’s definitely worth a try.

Although Trijicon created these HD Night Sights for the Glock with the needs of members of the military and law enforcement in mind, they’re also fantastic for general use at the range or on your carry gun. Whether or not you feel the need to upgrade your iron sights is going to depend on what sights came standard on your Glock, but odds are good you’ve considered changing them out. Trijicon offers these night sights with either an orange or yellow front sight to draw the eye and speed up target acquisition. These are three-dot tritium “heavy duty” night sights.

The front sight has a photoluminescent paint outline and tall blade to increase visibility and enhance rapid target acquisition, even in transitional light. As for the rear sight, it is outlined in black and specially shaped to facilitate better target acquisition overall. The rear sight features a wide U-Shaped notch. The front surface is steeply hooked to make emergency one-handed slide operation easier to accomplish. These sights are compatible with a variety of Glocks including the Glock 17, 19, 22, 34, 26, 27, 20, 42, 43, and 43X.

It probably comes as no surprise that it’s a good idea to put extended controls on your Glock. By swapping out the smaller factory components for extended components you make it easier to manipulate controls which translates to better overall functionality.

This Glock Store Tear Drop Extended Magazine Release is designed to offer a different shape and raised surface for releasing the magazine from the gun. This ridged release is slightly larger and provides benefits such as faster magazine reloads, making it easier to depress and remove the magazine, and more. Users also report it’s more comfortable than the factory release. This shape is both aesthetically pleasing and useful. The manufacturer states it’s a bit larger than the original factory button. The best part is that it can be placed in a matter of minutes with no gunsmithing required, it simply drops into place. This mag release comes in in silver, black, blue, FDE, red, and pink.

If you’ve ever wanted a little more real estate to grip your Glock, Pearce Grips can help. They offer a variety of magazine extensions that do great things for how securely you can hang onto your firearm. These Grip Extensions are made to replace the factory magazine base plate to offer both better comfort and greater control by adding what comes down to around ½ inch of gripping surface (that ½ inch really does make a difference). These particular grip extensions do not change the capacity of the magazine. Users can get a filler piece for Glock Gen 5 models with the semi-circular cut-out in the lower front area of the grip body if they so desire. This optional filler piece makes it possible to install this accessory on the PG-19G5 on all Mid and Full-Size Generation 4 and 5 Glocks.

This grip extension is compatible with magazines that are equipped with double notches for the ambidextrous magazine release (i.e., Gen 4 and 5 magazines). There are other models offered by Pearce Grips, too, so if you have a different Glock model there’s probably a grip extension available for you.

Other add-ons for your Glock include red dot sights, weapon-mounted lights, and lasers. It all depends on exactly what you need your gun to do. What are your favorite Glock upgrades? Drop your thoughts in the comments section.
