SHOT Show 2024: Rossi Rio Bravo Tactical

Lever-action rifles chambered in .22 LR have the advantage of feeding and firing many different types of ammunition a semi-auto cannot while remaining capable of quick, follow-up shots compared to bolt actions. However, most .22 lever guns exude traditional Western homage. In a step away from tradition, the new Rio Bravo Tactical from Rossi USA is a rimfire lever-action that is more flexible for modern shooting applications.

Quick Specs:

  • Caliber: .22 Long Rifle
  • Capacity: 10+1
  • Barrel Length: 16.5 inches with 1/2-28 threaded muzzle
  • Overall Length: 34.5 inches
  • Weight: 4.8 lbs. unloaded

The Rio Bravo Tactical is similar to Rossi’s traditional Rio Bravo line of .22 LR lever action rifles but with a few smart add-ons. The rifle’s aluminum alloy receiver has an oxide finish. The polymer forend is equipped with M-LOK compatible slots for easy accessory mounting. Instead of conventional iron sights and a dovetail for a rimfire scope, the Tactical model’s receiver includes an integral Picatinny rail to accommodate modern rifle scopes and red dot optics. The 16.5-inch barrel is also 1/2-28 threaded for your favorite compatible suppressor.

This carbine-length lever gun feeds from the handy 10-round tubular magazine. Like all rimfire lever actions, the rifle is loaded from the front of the magazine tube, which would pose a problem with a suppressor in the way. Fortunately, the magazine tube has a greater distance from the barrel compared to other rifles and can clear a rimfire suppressor without removing it.

The Rio Bravo Tactical is new for SHOT Show 2024 and will come in either black, FDE, or ODG. All models have an MSRP of $393.99.
