Safariland, a leading member of The Safariland Group, has released its new holster family designed for outside-the-waistband wear, the Solis holster. This holster, designed as an OWB option, is being touted as accessible and effective for concealment wear by the company.
The holster is constructed with the weather-resistant SafariSeven non-marking nylon blend material that holds the firearm snuggly without marring the finish. The holster has an open muzzle end design to easily clean out anything inside the holster while allowing space for threaded barrels.
The Solis holster is equipped with the ALS system to secure the firearm when holstered without any additional steps. The holster fits subcompact duty pistols with lights and optics and has a fast, natural straight-up draw with a swipe of the thumb release. The holster has a two-piece reinforced body construction for added strength and durability for everyday use.
“Solis provides the familiarity of a Safariland outside the waistband holster but in a low profile, easily concealed design,” said Eric Gasvoda, GM of Duty Gear for Safariland. “This new offering is a culmination of dedicated product development based on valuable customer input. Solis is an ideal addition to our outside-the-waistband holster family and provides a new carry option to the firearm and law enforcement community.”
The Solis with ALS holster is compatible with weapon-mounted lights as well as most red dot sights. Currently, the holster is available on their website for the Glock 43, 43X, and Glock 48 with options for with or without red dot sights or lights. The company has plans to release the Solis ALS holster for Sig Sauer P365 and P365XL pistols soon with the same options as the Glock holster. The Safariland Solis ALS OWB holster has an MSRP of $70-$85 depending on the options chosen.
