Custombilt Firearms Manufacturing (CFM) is a Type 7/SOT manufacturer located in Overland Park, Kansas. CFM manufactures AR15 pattern rifles with a focus on no-frills reliability and builds rifles with hard use in mind. Fans of the Custombilt Firearms Manufacturing Modern Minuteman Rifle, or MMR, can rejoice. Custombilt has upgraded the MMR series to include another variant option.
The MMRB-556 is Custombilt’s entry-level price point rifle, and ships with Magpul furniture including an SL handguard, making this an ideal choice for a patrol/defense rifle without breaking the bank.
Custombilt Firearms Manufacturing, a Kansas-based firearm manufacturer, added the MMRB-556 rifle that combines modern features with classic lines. The MMRB-556 contains the same components as the MMR-556 but incorporates an F marked front sight block, and Magpul Industries MLOK SL handguard. This combination results in a slightly more cost-effective rifle that is still suited for extremely hard use.
At the heart of its rifles, Custombilt uses its M16 cut nitride bolt carrier group, matched with a fully nitrided Ballistic Advantage 16” mid-length barrel. The mid-length gas system provides an extremely soft and controllable recoil impulse. All that sits inside a T-marked flat-top with Picatinny rails for mounting accessories.
The MPP-GI trigger has micro polished contact surfaces and a fitted disconnector. This combination gives the shooter the 5lb weight of a typical duty trigger but removes all of the gritty drag while breaking the shot. The fitted disconnector gives a positive, short reset that is hard to miss.
The MMRB-556 has an MSRP of $1,125, with loads of options that can be added at the time of purchase, including the trigger and charging handle upgrades, and a whole host of choices from Eotech.
