The All-New SIG ROMEO9T RDS: Professional-Grade Performance

It can be a challenge choosing rifle optics which is one of the reasons optics capable of multiple reticle functions are useful. Red dots are fantastic tools for long guns, but there’s more than one type (and color). If you’re torn between the different types of dots, we have good news for you: the SIG ROMEO9T is here to solve those problems. The ROMEO9T is a MIL-SPEC Dual Dot Sight designed for serious use, and it’s finally available.

The SIG Sauer ROMEO9T is a dot sight made for tactical applications. According to Sig Sauer, the ROMEO9T is tuned for passive night vision performance and features a proprietary optical design that helps reduce the down-range light signature. This is a great tactical feature and also good for situations where you’re hunting game such as feral hogs and don’t want to risk them detecting your optic. This optic has a night vision override control as well.

This sight has dual red and green emitters and has options such as a 1 MOA red dot with a user selectable 65 MOA circle and a 2.5 MOA green dot. It has lens coatings including a dual notch, anti-reflective, scratch resistant, and hydrophobic, all of which enhance its performance in various environments. The ROMEO9T is IPX-8 rated.

Features of the ROMEO9T include:

  • Dual, independently zeroed emitters in red and green
  • Operates on a single CR123 battery
  • Up to 50,000 hours of battery life
  • Titanium shroud and mounting hardware for superior strength
  • Tested to MIL-810 Standard meaning it’s made for durability and to withstand harsh environments
  • 1x magnification
  • 10 hour on board reserve cell
  • 100 MOA total travel
  • 0.5 MOA per click for adjustments
  • 1.63-inch sight height
  • IPX-8 waterproof and fog proof rating
  • Uses for dual aiming points include caliber changes, suppressed and unsuppressed use, varying zero distances, and standard zero versus CQB zero

Dimensions of the SIG Sauer ROMEO9T are an overall length of 4.2 inches, overall height of 2.9 inches, and overall width of 2.4 inches. Edges are rounded to reduce the risk of snagging. The sight has a weight of 13.1 ounces without a battery and 13.7 ounces with the battery installed. The ROMEO9T ships with a flip-back lens cap, lens pen, multitool, and KillFlash.

This is a solid choice for tactical use and any shooter interested in a rugged, impressively durable sight that’s tuned for passive night vision use. Its impressively long battery run time and durability ratings make it well worth considering for your duty or battle rifle.

MSRP for the SIG Sauer ROMEO9T is set at $5199.99.
