EOTech HWS EXPS3 with Danger Close Reticle Coming Soon

Holographic sight maker EOTech developed its DCR (Danger Close Reticle) to provide reliable speed on target with a modified outer ring and a 1 MOA aiming dot for precision at distance. It can provide fast and accurate shots at typical distances but also serve as an effective close combat aiming point.

The DCR features an easy-to-see chevron aiming point at the bottom of the reticle for uncomfortably close engagements or indoor environments. It is a modification of the popular “speed ring” circle/dot reticle but serves to address the point of aim (POA), and point of impact (POI) shift that occurs with close engagements when the primary dot is zeroed at distance.

The EXPS3-DCR features the Danger Close Reticle (DCR) that provides fast and accurate shots at typical distances but also an effective close combat aiming point.

A 68 MOA width is still maintained, yet the top of the circle has been removed, providing a cleaner look for the shooter. In addition, the bottom of the ring is also gone – replaced with the chevron providing that height over bore adjustment needed for dangerously close shot placement.

According to EOTech, with a .223/5.56 rifle zeroed at 50 yards, the DCR would provide three confident aiming points, including a long-distance 200-yard zero and a 7-yard solution.

The latest entry to the EOTech’s Holographic Weapons System (HWS) line, the EXPS3 DCR, will begin shipping in April. It is housed in the popular EXPS form factor, delivering true two eyes open shooting for fast target acquisition, while it also features night vision compatible settings, along with a 7mm raised quick detach base for lower 1/3 iron sight co-witness.
