Springfield Armory XD-M Elite 4.5″ OPS now in Desert FDE

Springfield Armory has upgraded its offerings for the XD-M Elite pistols with the XD-M Elite 4.5” OSP 10mm now in Desert FDE. The 10mm striker-fired firearm is extremely capable and is sure to be as popular as its other colored counterparts.

Based on the other 10mm XD-M Elite pistols, the updated version has a 4.5” match-grade barrel constructed of Melonite for the height of ballistic performance with a small but powerful size. The pistol also features what Springfield refers to as a highly ergonomic frame and has the Optical Sight Pistol (OSP) system.

The OSP system for the XD-M Elite features a removable seamless cover plate that covers the mounting interface for installing the desired optic on the mounting plates. In addition to the optic plates, the forged steel slide has the Tactical Rack U-Dot rear sight with a u-shaped white outline that pairs nicely with the fiber optic front sight.

“The XD-M Elite 10mm in Desert FDE provides shooters with a powerful pistol that will definitely stand out from the crowd,” says Steve Kramer, Vice President of Marketing for Springfield Armory. “The popular Desert FDE color, combined with all the enhanced features of the XD-M Elite line, makes this newest variant an appealing option for fans of the powerful 10mm cartridge.”

The Desert FDE XD-M Elite comes with removable extended and flared short magwells to choose from and comes with two double-column stainless steel magazines. The XD-M Elite 4.5” OSP has the Match Enhanced Trigger Assembly (META) system which has a flat face trigger with an integral overtravel stop. Rounding out the features is an ambidextrous slide stop along with the ambidextrous magazine release for both right- and left-handed operations.

This is a great addition to the XD-M family and has an MSRP of $695.

Patti Miller is one of the most awesome females in the tactical/firearm (or any) industry. Imagine a tall, hawt, dangerous Laura Ingalls Wilder type with cool hair and a suppressed blaster and you'll be getting the idea. What's interesting is that in addition to being a willing brawler and intrepid adventuress, she's also an Ent/Ogier level gardener and a truly badass baker.
