The Tisas’ Model 1911A1 Aviator is such a gun and is made to be true to the original in numerous ways but with all the benefits of modern technology. This is an affordably priced handgun designed for versatile applications such as home defense, personal protection, law enforcement, or range use, and, the manufacturer states it’s made to fit into any family’s budget.
The Tisas Model 1911A1 Aviator is available chambered in .45 ACP and 9x19mm Parabellum. The frame is aluminum, making it lighter weight than many, and it has an H-151 Satin Aluminum Cerakote finish for resistance to wear. Grips are overmolded black rubber for comfort and are also textured for a firm hold during live fire. The gun’s barrel is hammer-forged steel and measures 4.25 inches in length. The slide is made of 4140 hammer forged steel and all exterior parts have the durable, aesthetically appealing H-146 Black Cerakote finish. A front brass bead and rear sights come standard and are designed for rapid target acquisition and accuracy. The gun has a 7 +1 capacity in 45 ACP.
Tisas states that the trigger and trigger guard remain true to the original Model 1911 with a GI Trigger with a 4.5 to 5-pound trigger pull set at the factory. The gun has a rounded hammer and the standard 1911 safeties.
All Tisas’ Model 1911A1 Aviator guns come with an air and water-tight lockable case to make storage and transport simpler and to protect the gun. One 7-round magazine, a cleaning kit, a bushing wrench, and extra dark brown plastic grips also come with each gun. 9mm models include a 9-round magazine.
