Heritage’s New Badlander Double Barrel Shotgun

Few firearms from history conjure vivid imagery quite like a 12 gauge side-by-side shotgun. Since its inception, it has been called a Street Howitzer, a Scattergun, and a Coach gun, to name a few. If you’re one of those who has always wanted a piece of history, now is your chance thanks to Heritage Manufacturing. The company has just announced the release of the Badlander: a new take on an old-school side-by-side double-barreled scattergun.

Taking the piece of Western history and bringing it to the modern era, the new Badlander features two side-by-side 18.5-inch barrels with a corrosion-resistant black oxide coating. With the frame constructed from alloy steel, the shotgun offers exceptional durability while keeping the look and feel of the original design. In keeping with the simple design, the Badlander is equipped with a sturdy brass bead sight.

The double barrels marry with a black chrome frame for a solid piece, all nestled inside a Turkish walnut wood stock for that high-class feel. The new Badlander double barrel shotgun features a tang-mounted two-position safety, placed well within reach of most shooters’ thumbs, according to Heritage Manufacturing. As the company states, the tang-mounted safety with the twin triggers means the user can “give ‘em both barrels” with the Badlander.

Heritage Manufacturing specializes in producing firearms that are steeped in Western character and spirit, and the Badlander side-by-side shotgun is no different. With an overall length of just under 35 inches, just 2.26 inches wide, and a little under 6.5 pounds unloaded weight, the Badlander is a good choice for home defense, cowboy action shooting, or what the user would use any other 12 gauge shotgun for.

The Heritage Manufacturing Badlander 12 gauge double-barrel shotgun is available now through select retailers and has an MSRP of $894.99. There is no time like the present to own a new piece of the Old West!

Patti Miller is one of the most awesome females in the tactical/firearm (or any) industry. Imagine a tall, hawt, dangerous Laura Ingalls Wilder type with cool hair and a suppressed blaster and you'll be getting the idea. What's interesting is that in addition to being a willing brawler and intrepid adventuress, she's also an Ent/Ogier level gardener and a truly badass baker.
