Gunwerks Werkman 6.5 PRC Rifle System

Folks familiar with precision rifles know the name Gunwerks and the quality the company stands for. So, it is no real surprise that they updated their offerings that give the shooter the best bang for their buck out of the box with the Werkman rifle system.

The Werkman rifle system comes with a smaller price tag than other Werkman rifles and is made to high Gunwerk standards, including the 1,000 Yards Out Of The Box performance. The complete 6.5 PRC package keeps all the features that keep the Werkman a Gunwerks product, including the Gen 1 Magnus carbon fiber stock and stainless receiver action.

Specs

  • Caliber: 6.5 PRC
  • Barrel Length: 22 inch
  • Barrel Twist Rate: 1:8
  • Muzzle Thread: 5/8×24 (suppressor ready)
  • Overall Weight: 9.6lbs

While Gunwerks has updated its Magnus stock, the Gen 1 for the Werkman is still a carbon fiber constructed powerhouse with an aluminum bedding block and a hinged floor plate metal bottom and is ARCA plate compatible. The Gunwerks GLR stainless steel receiver along with the Gunwerks barreled action make up the heart of the rifle. Paired with the custom TriggerTech trigger, and you have a solid center on a solid precision rifle.

The Werkman rifle system features a 22” S30 stainless steel barrel and all metal parts are Cerakoted for what Gunwerks says is a durable and weather-resistant finish. The barrel features a 2-baffle muzzle brake with directional indexing that fits nicely on the 5/8×24 threads. If the end-user removes that muzzle brake, a compatible suppressor would be an easy add-on.

On top of the Werkman rifle system is a Revic Werkman RS25 optic with MOA reticle. The first focal plane reticle is clean and functional with a 5-25x magnification in a 30mm tube. With the RS25 optic, the rifle system has a custom BDC turret with yardage and MOA markings, all features that are needed for a long-range scope and system. Gunwerks does state that the system is built to shoot Hornady ELD Match ammunition, and the markings on the turret match the ammunition ballistics.

The Gunwerks Werkman rifle system can be configured for either right- or left-hand operations and comes complete with the Gunwerks ballistics data package. The Werkman rifle system weighs only 9.6 lbs and has an MSRP of $4,950.

Patti Miller is one of the most awesome females in the tactical/firearm (or any) industry. Imagine a tall, hawt, dangerous Laura Ingalls Wilder type with cool hair and a suppressed blaster and you'll be getting the idea. What's interesting is that in addition to being a willing brawler and intrepid adventuress, she's also an Ent/Ogier level gardener and a truly badass baker.
