Colt’s New 2.5″ Python Revolver

Colt Firearms, the renowned firearms manufacturer, has quietly announced the latest addition to its Python family of revolvers. When I say quietly, I mean little to no information has been released by the company other than a little of the basic information.

From what I can see, the new Python follows the famous snake gun heritage. The newest Python revolver features a 2.5” stainless steel barrel, like other Pythons before it, and is chambered as a .357 Magnum. If it follows the Python line, the revolver theoretically can handle .38 Special cartridges as well. But that isn’t confirmed yet, just conjecture so far.

It appears to carry on the Python family elements of the service style Altamont wood grips, like the longer versions. It also looks like it has the same updated sights that the other models have, but again, no validation from Colt. It does feature the Colt badge on the frame as well.

We will update you when we get more information. But right now, the Colt 2.5” Python .357 Mag revolver has an MSPR listed at $1,499 which is what other revolvers in the Python family are listed at. As you can guess, there is no set word on availability.

Patti Miller is one of the most awesome females in the tactical/firearm (or any) industry. Imagine a tall, hawt, dangerous Laura Ingalls Wilder type with cool hair and a suppressed blaster and you'll be getting the idea. What's interesting is that in addition to being a willing brawler and intrepid adventuress, she's also an Ent/Ogier level gardener and a truly badass baker.
