Springfield Armory has expanded and released a new family of Rimfire rifles in the Model 2020 line of products. The .22lr Model 2020 Rimfire rifles are available in either synthetic or wood stocks — with the Classic Model with wood stocks and the Target Model with a synthetic stock. Springfield Armory states the rifles are a refined bolt-action with all the quality and performance customers can expect with the company name.
“The appeal of a well-made rimfire rifle speaks to practically every shooting enthusiast,” says Steve Kramer, Vice President of Marketing for Springfield Armory. “The new bolt-action Model 2020 Rimfire line chambered in .22 LR provides just that, with a wide selection of models offering something for every shooter — from suppressor-ready Target Models to Classic Models with beautiful walnut stocks.”

Springfield 2020 Features
The Classic Model 2020 rimfire rifle features a Turkish walnut stock with four different grades of wood to choose from: Select Satin, Grade A, Grade AA, and Grade AAA. According to SA, each grade of wood has the classic style and craftsmanship but allows the customer to decide what look they are going for. The Target Model rifle can be purchased in either a black or sage with black webbing finishing.
The Model 2020 rimfire .22lr rifles have a dual cocking cam and a hard chrome bolt for smooth performance and cycling. The bolt has a 60-degree of throw, and the rifle features an interrupted Picatinny rail so the end user can use just about any optic they choose. The rifle also has dual standard sling swivels giving the shooter twin interface points for use with whichever sling the user prefers. Additionally, the bolt handle is threaded for extra customization by the user.
The rifle also features a 20” long premium barrel that free-floats for its full length so there is no point of impact shift, regardless of shooting position. The barrel is threaded on the Target Model and accepts a suppressor or muzzle device out of the box. The Classic Model has what SA calls a sporter contour for the barrel. Either model has an optimized Model 700-pattern adjustable trigger that has a factory 4.5-pound pull weight. The rifle is compatible with aftermarket Model 700 pattern triggers if the end-user wants to customize that feature too.
Each rifle is guaranteed to shoot 1” or less three-shot groups at 50 yards with match-grade factory ammunition and comes with SA .22-caliber rotary magazine. The Springfield Armory Model 2020 rimfire rifles start with an MSRP of $434 for the black Target model rifle, up to $1,099 for the Classic Grade AAA model rifle.
