The Herring Model 2024 is a multi-caliber, lever-action firearm designed to offer many of the performance and customization pluses of the AR, only it’s a lever.
According to Fightlite, the Herring Model 2024 is a patent-pending firearm designed to be a high-performance, advance-design lever-action rifle. The Herring Model 2024 is made for accuracy and modularity and can be changed to almost any caliber by the shooter with no need for tools (they state this includes any necessary magazine reconfiguration).
Fightlite says this gun utilizes a rotating bolt like those used in ARs, only the bolt operates by use of the lever. The gun uses standard AR-15 bolts and uppers, making it impressively versatile in numerous ways. It will mostly be made available in 5.56 NATO and 300 BLK, but Fightlite says it can be reconfigured for other calibers including 6mm ARC, 450 Bushmaster, 9mm, and 10mm. 22 LR is also possible with the use of a caliber conversion kit.
The gun has a fixed Fightlite High-Impact Polymer stock with a QD attachment for the easy addition of a sling. An M-LOK compatible handguard makes it easy to add lights and lasers while a full-length Picatinny rail means mounting optics and magnifiers is a straightforward process. The standard barrel length is 16.25 inches, the overall length is 37.75 inches, and the gun has a width of 2.0 inches. The Herring Model 2024 has an empty weight of 5 pounds, 7 ounces, meaning it’s a lightweight platform that improves portability and simplifies maneuverability.
