Pistol braces are gone, at least for now. Long live the CZ Scorpion 3+ Carbine, in the meantime.
The carbine version of CZ’s Scorpion 3+ has just been announced. Described by CZ USA as the “big brother to the 3+ Micro,” it’s the latest and most likely the last in the Scorpion 3+ series. And yes, for you Scorpionophiles, it gives you the option of using that EVO folding stock y’all love so much.
Here’s what we know so far:
CZ Scorpion 3+ Carbine
The 3+ carbine incorporates a number of solid features and design upgrades over previous models. According to CZ USA, these were all made in response to feedback from civilian, LE, and military consumers.
Some of those attributes include:
- Mags are initially available in 10-, 11-, and 15-round versions; though notched for the new mag release, they are backward compatible with CZ Scorpion EVO 3 pistols (👊CZ).
- The Scorpion EVO adjustable stock (3 adjustment points for length of pull and folds).
- An AR-style ambidextrous mag release (a nice touch for those familiar with that manual of arms).
- A recessed mag well that leaves more real estate on the handguard for your support hand.
- An ambi bolt catch for both right- and wrong-handed shooters.
- A reversible/swappable, non-reciprocating charging handle.
- “Improved” adjustable aluminum sights (improved over the previous pistol version?).
- For RDS employment: the four-aperture sights deliver lower 1/3 co-witness with most popular red dots.
- Adjustable grip (for reach to the trigger) designed for greater individualization and better comfort than its predecessors.
- Polymer M-LOK carbine length handguard over a 16.3 inch barrel.
- Cold hammer-forged barrel with 1/2×28 muzzle thread.
- Faux suppressor (because function trumps form, but looking cool is still a Good Thing), OR
- A compensating muzzle brake.
- Overall improved ergonomics.
