The Rock Island Armory Budget Friendly Double-Stack M1911
For less than a grand, the RIA TAC Ultra FS HC is one helluva gun. It could be better, but it could also be a lot worse. It's surprisingly reliable with the cheapest ammo I can find. It's plenty accurate, but it is begging for a red dot optic. If you want to jump on the double stack M1911 or 2011 bandwagon, this gun makes it easy to do so.
Remington Core-Lokt Tipped Ammo: A Quick Review
Remington's new version of the Core-Lokt Tipped ammunition seems to have breathed new life into this round. The polymer tip helps aerodynamics, adding and retaining velocity, as well as helping expansion. Pick some up. I think you'll be pleasantly surprised with this ammo.
The .22 TCM is built to move, weighing in at 40 grains and moving at velocities of around 1,850 to 1,900 feet per second when fired from a 5-inch barrel. When you toss the .22 TCM in a rifle-length barrel, the velocity amps up to 2,800 feet per second. That's nuts for such a little round. The .22 TCM joins the ranks of rounds like the .22 Spitfire, the .221 Remington Fireball, and the oft-forgotten .224 Boz. It's light, fast, and hits with a smack.

Review: Remington R1 Enhanced Double Stack
While double stack 1911s aren't for everyone, Remington's R1 Enhanced double stack in .45 ACP is worth taking a second look at if you're in the market for a quality double stack 1911.

The .223 Remington as a Deer Cartridge: An Unscientific Test
Depending on who you ask, 223 Remington is viewed a deer cartridge. Others say differently. Somewhat scientifically, lets see where it falls for performance.
The Lipsey’s Exclusive S&W 432 Ultimate Carry and the Case for the .32 Revolver
Smith & Wesson and Lipsey's Distributors teamed up to release the new S&W 432 Ultimate Carry. As a fan of the .32, the new 432 UC gave me a chance to revisit an old friend in a new platform to see if the round and revolver make the mark.
Walther Q5 Match Review: Utilitarian Race Gun
The Walther Q5 Match checks all the boxes for me. It’s accurate, comfortable, consistent, and above all else, reliable. The pistol performed flawlessly and looks good to boot. If you’re in the market for an entry-level race gun or utilitarian “do-all” gun, give the Q5 Match a shot.
